Milky Cleanser
Milky cleansers are great for the cold winter months because they are much less likely to strip the skin of its natural lipids. These lipids are essential to keep the skin functioning properly.
When we strip the skin we can experience dryness, redness, irritation, and other issues that can easily be avoided by using a gentle milky cleanser.
This milky cleanser from 100% Pure is very calming and gentle. It effectively cleanses without stripping the skin.
Exfoliate
Exfoliation is KEY in the wintertime. When your skin is dry, it accumulates more dead skin cells, so exfoliating 2-3 times a week is important to maintain your skin health.
This exfoliant from Siam Seas will slough off those dead skin cells without any roughness or irritation. It’s one of my absolute faves!
Hydrating Mist
I loveee misting my face. It just feels so good! And it keeps your skin dewy and hydrated, which is what we all need during the wintertime.
My go-to recommendation at the moment is Pranarōm’s lavender hydrosol. It’s so soothing and hydrating which is perfect for the harsh winter months! Your skin will soak it up and love it.
Essence
Essences are like thin hydrating serums. They provide a ton of hydration to the skin and are typically used in Korean skincare.
The Siam Seas Yen Toner is my favorite essence. It’s like a hydrating serum and toner all in one. It has such a great texture and feel. It’s one of a kind!
You can use it on its own or mix it with your moisturizer. I typically like mixing it with my facial oil!
Moisturizer
Moisturizers in the winter need to be heavy duty. A simple cream will not do the trick for most people.
That’s why I like to recommend tallow balm. Tallow is full of bioavailable vitamins and fatty acids that our skin craves.
It moisturizes even the most rough, dry skin. It’s also light enough to sink into the skin, so you will not feel greasy.
I love using and recommending Perma Earth tallow balm. Their tallow is 100% grass fed and finished, hand-made raw fresh from the source, and local small family farm raised. It’s completely natural and never bleached or tampered with.
Once you use tallow on your skin you will be hooked!
Facial Oil
If you’re really struggling with dryness, try using a facial oil in your skincare routine. I love the Rose Best Skin Ever in my winter routine because it is deeply nourishing.
You can use it as your oil cleanser and moisturizer. I explain how to use this incredible product in my blog post here👇

Overnight Mask
Whenever you feel like you need a boost of hydration, apply an overnight mask! Overnight masks lock in moisture and prevent transepidermal water loss, which contributes to dehydration in the skin.
This overnight mask specifically targets your skin barrier and acts as a seal to prevent any type of moisture loss. You will feel drenched in moisture, which is what our skin craves during this season.
Lip Treatment
Don’t forget your lips! Lips are especially prone to dryness and cracking during this season.
This lip treatment will keep your lips moisturized all day long so you don’t have to worry about reapplying all the time!
Humidifier
Having a humidifier in your bedroom at night is one of the best things you can do for your skin during the wintertime.
The lack of humidity in the winter causes our skin to become dehydrated, especially at night. When we sleep our skin loses a large amount of water, so having a humidifier on our bedside table will help your skin stay hydrated and fresh all night long.
Stay Hydrated
Sometimes it’s hard to remember to stay hydrated when it’s so cold out; however, it’s still so important! Your skin will look and feel better if you properly hydrate throughout the day.
Make sure you’re adding some salt to your water so that you are hydrating correctly.
