What Is Organic Skincare?

Organic skincare is skincare that contains organic ingredients that are free from pesticides. It usually contains naturally derived ingredients, also known as ingredients you can find in nature.
Some products can have a mixture of organic and non organic ingredients. This is where it can be confusing for consumers because not all products labeled “organic” actually contain organic and naturally derived ingredients.
If you want to use truly organic skincare products, make sure they are certified organic.
This ensures that at least 95% of the ingredients in the products are organic and have no genetically modified organisms.

If a skincare product does not have the USDA organic seal on it, then it is not certified organic. Always look for the seal if using organic skincare is important to you!
Is Organic Skincare Really Better?
Just like eating organic food is better than eating non-organic food, organic skincare is better for you than non-organic skincare.
This is because organic skincare has fewer toxins and is free of pesticides. It also tends to be gentler and free of harsh chemicals.
Another good reason organic skincare is better than conventional skincare is that it is good for the environment.
Organic skincare contains ingredients that are not grown with toxic fertilizers. This helps promote more sustainable farming practices.
Best Organic Skincare Products
There are sooo many organic skincare products out there. I have not been able to try them all (that would probably be impossible haha), but here are some great certified organic brands I have used and recommend to everyone interested in using organic skincare:
Here are some other organic skincare brands I know about but have not tried personally. I do know a lot of people like these brands, so I have only heard good feedback!
What Is The Best Organic Skincare?
The best organic skincare in my professional opinion, has to be Living Libations.
Everything is hand made with care with the absolute highest quality ingredients and sourcing.
Fun fact, it was the first non toxic beauty brand I tried when transitioning to a non toxic lifestyle!
I have tried so many different organic skincare brands and products over the years, butt I will always come back to Living Libations. They’re simply the best!

My Opinion On Organic Skincare As A Holistic Esthetician
I definitely support the use of organic skincare, but I also like to have an “everything in moderation” mindset.
If you have products that work amazingly for you, but they’re not organic, then keep using them!
I don’t think you should throw out all of your products and switch to everything organic, especially if you have non-organic products that work really well for you.
I personally like to use a mix of non-organic and organic skincare because that’s what works well for me. Always do what’s best for YOU!
