Healthy Lifestyle Routine
Drink All Natural Electrolytes
I know you guys have heard me talk about drinking water with electrolyte packets, such as LMNT, but drinking water with natural electrolytes is so good for you, too! You can add things like lemon, cucumber, lime, salt, honey, and more to your water to make your very own all-natural electrolyte drink!
This is great because you’re avoiding things like natural flavors, which are added to electrolyte packets to make them taste good. Natural flavors cause inflammation, so by drinking your own nature-made electrolyte drink, you are reducing the amount of inflammation in your body. It also tastes amazing.😋

Eat High Quality Animal Based Foods
This is probably controversial, but we are made to eat animals. If you are vegetarian, vegan, or pescetarian I fully respect that! But if you’re cutting back on meat just because you think it’s healthier, you will want to change that.
Eating whole, nutrient-dense foods from animals will change your health and skin dramatically. I was actually vegan for a long time and my health started to decline rapidly. I was sleeping terribly and would wake up every morning with a pounding headache. I would also get very lightheaded and dizzy during the day. I felt weak and tired pretty much all the time. My doctor told me I should try eating animal based again and once I did, I felt 1000 times better. It was a complete 180.
I know some people can be vegan and be just fine, but if your skin and health are not where you want them to be, try eating high-quality animal-based foods.
I encourage you to check out jamieanneaesthetics.com for the perfect animal-based diet guide. She has so many great resources and lots of knowledge on this topic!
Move Every Single Day
Our bodies were specifically designed to move, but the average adult is sitting 6.5 hours a day. We sit when we work, we sit when we watch TV, we sit in the car, and we sit when we go on our phones. We don’t move our bodies anymore and it’s slowly killing us.
It’s harder to move during the day because most of us, including me, work on a computer at a desk for hours a day. A great way to prevent sitting while you work is by using a standing desk. You could also use a walkway and walk while you work!
It’s important to at least get in some form of moment daily whether that is yoga, pilates, running, tennis, hiking, you name it. There are endless ways to move your body, so it doesn’t have to be boring!
Go Outside
Do not fear the sun! Get your vitamin D and go outside. It’s crucial for our bone health, sleep, immunity, mental health, and it lowers blood pressure!

Avoid Seed Oils
Seed oils are highly processed, inflammatory oils that are actually rancid. They are also extremely high in omega-6s. Because these oils are in pretty much everything we eat, we have too much omega-6 in our diet and this causes inflammation. This contributes to acne, rosacea, depression, anxiety, autoimmune conditions, and so much more.
This post does a great job of explaining seed oils and why you should avoid them:
Get Off Hormonal Birth Control
If you’re a woman and you haven’t done so already, get off hormonal birth control🙅🏼♀️ If you are taking birth control to prevent pregnancy there are other healthy ways to do so, such as non toxic condoms, Daysy fertility tracker, natural cycles app or OURA ring, and Ava bracelet.
There are some of the reasons why you don’t want to be on hormonal birth control:
- It’s a band-aid solution that doesn’t solve anything and only leads to long-term health problems
- Causes nutrient deficiencies
- Alters your partner preference
- Increases breast and cervical cancer risk
- Causes thyroid malfunction
- The pill shuts off your hormones and keeps progesterone levels high so your body thinks you are pregnant and keeps your ovaries from releasing an egg
- You don’t have a period, so the blood you bleed every month is from the withdrawal of hormones
- It’s classified as a group 1 carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer
- It’s correlated with depression, anxiety, and mood changes
- Increases the risk of blood clotting, heart attack, and stroke
- Increases risk of autoimmunity
- Alters liver function
- Changes gut microbiota
- Alters the brain and stress response
Limit Your Sugar Intake
Just like seed oils, sugar contributes to tons of inflammation. It’s important to have sugar alternatives so you don’t have to deprive yourself of some sweet treats!
Some sugar alternatives are maple syrup, monk fruit, raw honey, dates, and stevia. You can add these to any of your baking recipes or drizzle them on top of fruit, nuts, or yogurt.
