Why Should You Reset Your Skin?
A lot of people think they need to do more to their skin when it’s breaking out or irritated, but this is so untrue! When your skin is upset, you need to take a step back and let it breathe.
It can be hard to do less, but we need to get out of our skin’s way and let it heal. Our skin is so smart and it knows how to heal itself.
If we try to fight it with a bunch of different products, it will only aggravate the skin further.
How to Reset Your Skin
1. Stop Using All Products
That means no makeup, no skincare tools, no sunscreen, nothing. You are going to only use the Seabuckthorn oil on your face for at least a week.
I remember the very first night of my reset, my redness went down instantly. I was so surprised and excited!
It’s strange to only use one product on your face and nothing else, but I know you’ll love the simplicity. It saves so much time, effort, and money!
Just like we all need a vacation from work, school, and life, our skin needs a vacation from products, tools, and treatments.

2. Evaluate Your Skin
If you did not notice a difference in your skin after a week of only using the Seabuckthorn oil, try it for longer. Some people are slow responders. It may even take a month for your skin to reset.
3. Reintroduce Products Slowly
After your skin has found balance, slowly reintroduce products and tools back into your routine.
For example, introduce gua sha and try that for a week. See how your skin responds. If it responds well, add another product the next week, such as toner. Try that for a week and see how your skin responds. If it responds well, add another product, and so on.
You definitely don’t want to add everything back all at once. Be gentle and patient with your skin and ease it back into your normal skincare routine.
4. Listen to Your Skin
If your skin acts up again, just cut back on products. Recognize you’re skin’s triggers. It may even be helpful to keep a journal.
Does your skin start to break out around your cycle? Do you notice your skin is more inflamed when you drink caffeine? What ingredients do you have sensitivities or allergies to in skincare? These things are very important to note.

Resetting your skin does not have to be a one-time thing. You can reset your skin as often as you like!
For example, you may want to reset your skin quarterly with the change in seasons. Or you could reset your skin once a month. Maybe you only need to reset your skin once a year. There are no rules. Just use your intuition. You know your skin best!
5. Less is More
If you want to continue only using the Seabuthorn oil on your skin without any other products, then DO IT! No rule says you have to use more products after your skin reset is over.
Some people find that using one product is all they need and want. If you love simple, easy, quick routines, the only product you’ll ever need is the Seabuckthorn oil.
