What Is Einkorn Flour?
Einkorn flour is an ancient wheat that was planted during the Neolithic Revolution.
The first bread ever made was with einkorn flour.
It was almost extinct during the Bronze Age and was left untouched.
It is the oldest and purest food that exists today.
Einkorn flour has never been hybridized and is never bleached, bromated, or enriched.
It is grown organically and tested for glyphosate to ensure it is glyphosate-free.
What Is Einkorn Flour Made From?
Einkorn flour is derived from the grains of einkorn wheat. It has a single grain on each stem and is very hardy and sturdy, surviving even the toughest environments.
It is nature’s original wheat!
What Is Einkorn Flour vs. Wheat Flour?
Compared to modern wheat flour, einkorn flour is:
- Higher in protein, b vitamins, and essential & trace minerals
- Lower in starch and carbs
- More flavorful and tasty
- Easier to digest
- Gluten-sensitive friendly
Where To Buy Einkorn Flour
You can find einkorn flour pretty much everywhere now.
I’ve seen it at Whole Foods, Earth Fare, and Harris Teeter where I live.
I buy Jovial Einkorn flour because I trust their souring. They’re a great brand and I love all of their products!
Is Einkorn Flour Animal Based?
Technically, no.
Any type of grain is not animal based, but I include einkorn flour in my animal based diet for a few reasons:
- It is an ancient wheat that is as pure today as when it was first planted 12,000 years ago
- I never experience bloating, gas, blood sugar spikes/dips, or other negative effects like I did when eating modern wheat
- It is filling and delicious
The animal based diet is all about eating how your ancestors did, so I believe this ancient grain can be included in your animal based diet if you tolerate it well.
A lot of gluten-free flour like almond flour and coconut flour does not agree with me, so I use einkorn flour instead when I cook and bake. One of my favorite things to make is einkorn waffles! They’re sooo good.
You can try einkorn flour and see if your body loves it as much as mine does!
