Do Dairy Products Cause Pimples?

Are you wondering whether dairy products cause pimples? Keep reading to find out the truth!

do dairy products cause pimples

Do dairy products cause pimples or is this just another skincare myth? As a holistic esthetician, I know how important it is to avoid certain foods for healthy skin, but is dairy one of those foods?

I’ve struggled with acne since I was twelve so I know how frustrating it is to figure out which foods are causing acne.

In this post you will learn if dairy is the culprit to your pimples, so keep reading to find out!

This post is all about if dairy products cause pimples.

Do Dairy Products Cause Pimples?

When I was in college, I decided to cut out dairy entirely because I believed it would clear my skin. I thought it would be easy, but dairy is in literally everything!

This was back when I was eating highly processed foods so not eating dairy seemed impossible since on the back of every food label read “contains milk.”

And after over a year of not eating any dairy products guess what?

I still had horrible cystic, inflamed acne.

This was because I, like so many others, was blaming one thing on my acne. I thought it was dairy since everyone says to avoid dairy if you have acne.

But it was not dairy that was causing my acne. It was many factors. I was eating processed foods, barely going outside, using toxic skincare, haircare, makeup, and body care, and doing so many other unhealthy habits.

I was living the standard American lifestyle.

This is all to say that dairy is most likely not the cause of your pimples. It is your lifestyle.

Unless you have a dairy allergy or sensitivity, your breakouts are a result of an unhealthy lifestyle made up of many factors.

What Happens When You Cut Out Dairy?

When people cut out dairy they don’t avoid cheese, ice cream, milk and other dairy products. They just buy the dairy free versions.

This is horrible for your body because you’re consuming chemically modified foods that contain seed oils, refined sugar, dyes, artificial flavorings, gums, and other highly inflammatory ingredients that will definitely worsen acne.

It’s sad that these products are marketed as healthy when they’re actually some other worst foods to ingest.

Instead of going dairy free to cure your acne, switch to a whole foods diet and improve your lifestyle.

Eat A Balanced Whole Foods Diet

Start eating REAL foods like organic fruits and veggies, meat, and eggs. Eat how your ancestors would eat and avoid processed foods.

I promise your pimples will start to disappear once you prioritize eating a whole foods diet!

I personally went on the animal based diet and my skin has never been better!

I wish someone had told me all of this years ago before I went dairy free. It would have saved me so much frustration! So I hope this helps you avoid the same mistakes I made and get to the root cause of your acne:)

If you have any questions at all leave them in the comments and I would love to answer them!
