Finding clean swaps for popular skincare and makeup products is no easy task, especially when companies are greenwashing consumers into thinking their products are clean and nontoxic when they’re not. As a holistic esthetician, I will be showing you some clean swaps for some of the most popular beauty products.
You will learn about nontoxic dupes for Cerave, EltaMD, Laneige, Charlotte Tilbury, CosRX, Maybelline, and St. Ives.
You are going to love these clean swaps. You might even like them better than the original products! I know I definitely did.
This post is all about the best clean swaps for popular beauty products that every clean beauty lover should know about.
Best Clean Swaps
1. Cerave Daily Moisturizing Lotion ➡️ Graydon Skin Stuff
Cerave’s daily moisturizing lotion is super popular for a reason. It’s lightweight and sinks right into the skin. It’s great for any skin type, even sensitive skin. But the ingredients are far from clean, even though it does have some great ingredients in there such as hyaluronic acid and ceramides.
Graydon’s skin stuff moisturizer is a perfect nontoxic dupe for Cerave’s moisturizing lotion. It’s perfect for sensitive skin and even has ceramides. I love to recommend it to teenagers, acne prone skin types, and men, but it really is perfect for anyone.
2. EltaMD UV ➡️ Suntegrity Impeccable Skin Sunscreen Foundation
The EltaMD tinted sunscreen used to be my favorite tinted sunscreen. Sometimes I would wear it as my foundation because it had such nice coverage. After extensive research on sunscreen, I found out it wasn’t clean despite it being a physical sunscreen (Note: not all physical sunscreens are nontoxic! Many contain harmful ingredients, so it’s important to check the label and know what to look out for).
EltaMD UV physical sunscreen contains perfluorononyl dimethicone which is a reproductive and developmental toxin. It is also an endocrine disrupter a possible carcinogen. No thanks!
Suntegrity Impeccable Skin Foundation is the perfect clean dupe for EltaMD. It has great coverage so it can be worn as a foundation or an everyday tinted sunscreen because it’s not heavy at all. It is European standard which means they have to go through a lot more testing and follow more rules and regulations that aren’t enforced in the U.S.
3. Maybelline Baby Skin Primer ➡️ Grown Alchemist Anti-Pollution Primer
I used to love to use the Maybelline baby skin primer when I was younger. It did such a nice job smoothing out my skin and blurring my pores. Now I’ve discovered an even better (and much cleaner) dupe for this primer by Grown Alchemist. It has the same pore-blurring effect and smoothes out the skin so nicely. It’s perfect under makeup or even by itself. It even has blue light and pollution protection. I wear it pretty much every day. I love it!
4. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask ➡️ Kari Gran Lip Whip
Honestly, I never understood the hype around the Laneige lip sleeping mask. I would experience peeling whenever I used it and my lips never felt nourished. It also contains synthetic fragrances, dyes, and dimethicone, which is a toxin.
One day I tried Lip Whip, a perfect nontoxic dupe to this popular lip mask. It hydrates and deeply moisturizes the lips using all-natural ingredients so your lips stay protected and nourished all night. I actually love using it during the day, too, because it does such a great job of keeping my lips moisturized!
5. Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ➡️ Gressa Kheer Concealer Clickstick
Charlotte Tilbury makeup is loved by many, but the ingredients aren’t up to clean beauty standards. It contains harmful ingredients such as PEGs which have carcinogenic properties.
The Gressa Kheer Concealer Clickstick will have the same effect as the Charlotte Tilbury wand just with cleaner ingredients. It has a sponge tip for easy application and the makeup formulation is beautiful. It blends so nicely into the skin. You can use it as a bronzer, for contour, or even as eyeshadow!

6. St. Ives Apricot Scrub ➡️ Living Libations Ginger Exfoliating Scrub
St. Ives Apricot Scrub is a cult favorite, but for clean beauty lovers, it’s unacceptable to put on the skin. I mean do I even have to list the reasons why?😅 Artificial fragrances, surfactants, and toxins are what you’ll find in the ingredient list. It may feel and smell nice, but at what cost?
I love to use the ginger exfoliating scrub by Living Libations because it is a great cleanser/exfoliator and it uses completely natural botanical ingredients. It smells heavenly. It’s currently my favorite head-to-toe scrub.

7. COSRX Snail Mucin 96 Power Essence ➡️ Gressa Salt of The Earth Essence
Before I switched to nontoxic beauty products, I used the CosRX snail mucin essence. It felt so nice on the skin and was super hydrating. But the ingredients aren’t the cleanest.
Salt of the Earth Essence by Gressa is the better alternative to the snail essence. It has completely organic, botanical ingredients that hydrate the skin so nicely. It feels even more hydrating and nourishing than the snail mucin essence. I love to mix it with my facial oil for the perfect daily moisturizer!
